Development of “Liqualloy”, a Power Inductor for High-Current Applications

October 11, 2011 · Filed Under Green Tech, Trendy Products · Comments Off

Alps Green Devices has announced the development of “GLMD Series” Liqualloy™ Power Inductor which is designed for high-current applications such as CPU power supplies in notebook PCs, servers, as well as other type of electronic equipment. The Liqualloy, the core material in the inductor, is a metallic glass with magnetic properties which has been developed jointly with Tohoku University, where it features industry leading low losses. Metallic glass is a type of amorphous metal with a disordered atomic structure, ideal for industrial applications due to its super cooled liquid region like oxide glass helping the new inductor to operate in lower losses than previous inductors, particularly when operating under light loads. Development of Miniature Inertia Measurement Unit for Industrial Applications by Epson Toyocom

October 18, 2010 · Filed Under Trendy Products · Comments Off

Epson Toyocom Corporation has started commercial development of a highly accurate and stable miniature inertial measurement unit (IMU) for use in industrial applications. IMU is a device capable of detecting and measuring inertial motion, made up of angular velocity on three axes and acceleration in three directions. The new IMU device comes with ±300 degrees per second triple gyroscopes on three axes and three ±3-G tri-axis accelerometers. Furthermore, the new IMU device comes with excellent angular rate characteristics and gyro bias instability of less than 6 degrees per hour, plus an angle random walk performance of less than 0.24 degrees per hr, making the new IMU’s instability and accuracy parameters, 25% and 12.5% respectively, better than currently available IMUs. Development of super glue from wood biomass

May 7, 2009 · Filed Under Green Tech · Comments Off

Here is a nature made glue product with a bit of intervention by human. It is all based on lignin a complex organic polymer normally found in the tissues of plants with multiple industrial applications making it a coveted product among certain manufacturers. The lignin is made by plants and is found in the cell walls of plans. Its binding nature to cellulose and other plant fiber provide strong cell walls. Usually, the more lignin a plant has the woodier it becomes. Read more
