Introducing Industry’s Lightest Starters for Compact Automobiles by DENSO
Denso has announced the development of world’s lightest starters for use in small and compact vehicles. The new starter is approximately 40% lighter than the conventional starters allowing for easier installation in the engine compartment, while helping to increase vehicle fuel efficiency. Denso in developing the new starter has come up with a pinion shift mechanism separating the clutch and pinion so only the pinion needs to engage with the engine ring gear, contrary to conventional starters where the integrated clutch and pinion need to be shifted toward the ring gear in order to engage. Toppan Printing has just gone one step ahead of computation by introducing an environmentally friendly biodegradable card that come with embedded plant seeds. As the name suggests, the card is made of paper (Kami in Japanese), bearing seeds ( tane in Japanese) inside of it. These are the regular paper based cards that usually used as gift cards or section of mobile phone SIM cards that are tread off and disposed, adding ECO feature to already available KAMICARD®.
