More than a year after introducing industry’s first fully-integrated, 3D camcorder, the AG-3DA1, Panasonic has introduced a simplified and affordable high-quality 3D production system , the AG-3DP1, a 3D twin-lens P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorder with high quality 10-bit 4:2:2 independent-frame, full 1920 x 1080 resolution AVC-Intra recording. The new 3DP1 features two pairs of 1/3 inch, full-HD 2.2 magepixel 3-MOS imagers with enhanced sensitivity and a 20-bit Digital Signal Processor capable of full production quality images. Following the foot steps of its not too distance away predecessor AG-3DA1, the 3DP1 incorporates stereoscopic adjustment controls for enhanced usability and operability. The adoption of twin-lens in 3DP1, allows the convergence point to be adjusted, followed by capability of automatically correcting horizontal and vertical displacement, all done without any needs for external equipment, resulting in immediate 3D image capture, contrary to conventional 3D camera systems where require PC or external video processor for these sort of adjustments to be made. The new B008 model digital SLR ultra-high-power zoom lens features a 62mm filter diameter and company’s first standing wave ultrasonic motor system for SLR lenses. Renesas Electronics has announced the release of a power semiconductor device which is designed for use as a dedicated power supply for DDR type SDRAM memory and large scale logic devices such as FPGAs used in PCs, servers and printers. The newly developed R2J20751NP is industry’s first POL converter with a 25 A maximum rating, which integrate MOSFETs and power supply controller in one single package helping system designers to realize power supply systems that are compact and energy efficient. Introducing the Carbon-Coated Aluminum Foils for Lithium Ion Battery by SDK
Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) and Showa Denko Packaging Co (SPA) has announced the volume production of carbon-coated aluminum foils capable of reducing electrical resistance of lithium-ion battery (LIB) electrodes, resulting in substantial improvement in quick charge/discharge performance, a requirement for collectors in automotive LIBs. The new aluminum foils with the trade name of SDX ™ can reduce the contact resistance by around 50% in comparison with conventional plain aluminum foils. SDX has been manufactured through coating plain aluminum foils with electrically conductive carbon, using company’s proprietary technology. Read more
Introduction of Heat Pump Water Heater with Industry’s First CO2 Scroll-Rotary Two Stage Compressor by Mitsubishi Heavy Industry
The introduction of heat pump in cold climate so far has been limited, due to dramatic reduction of heating output and COP value. To overcome this issue, Mitsubishi Heavy Industry (MHI) has developed a new heat pump with world’s first CO2 refrigerant Scrotary two stage compressors for commercial use in ambient temperature down to -25 degrees Celsius. The new ESA30 is capable of maintaining rated heating output at output at outdoor conditions of -7 degrees Celsius as well as being able to heat water up to 90 Degrees Celsius in an extremely cold outdoor condition of -25 degrees Celsius. Introduction of new Scroll-rotary technology, combining scroll and rotary technology is capable of delivering high efficiency at high and low pressure rations, respectively. Through introduction of a gas injection system in the medium-pressure housing, MHI has managed to increase the circulating volume of the refrigerant. The new ESA30 supports multiple installation connection and controlling up to 16 units, while being capable of supplying up to 120 tons of hot water at 60 degrees Celsius. Read more

Introduction of High Efficient LED Driver IC for LED Lighting by Renesas
One of the fastest LED market is in the field of lighting as a replacement for incandescent light bulbs, but use of direct current (DC) drive by LEDs, necessitates the conversion of alternating current (AC) power supply to DC. This requirement, bring a demand for elements that are designed to address issues such as cost, conversion efficiency as well as power factor. Based on this need Renesas Electronics has developed a highly efficient LED driver IC with high power factor and low cost in mind. In reducing the system cost, Renesas has introduced a voltage step-down control technology (single-stage), providing a high line-to-ground voltage.
