KYOCERA to Showcase the Industry’s First LTE Micro Base Station
Kyocera made an announcement on development of industry’s first Long Term Evolution (LTE) micro base station. The company claims the new micro base station is the world’s lightest and smallest and the most efficient LTE base station, where its unique compact and all-in-one design makes it ideal for network operators to complement their existing networks through expanding coverage or adding incremental capacity in high use area. The micro base station weighs less than 12kg with 8 watts of transmit power, a fraction in comparison to typical macro base stations. Read more
Release of Low Profile Back Flip Lock Type FPC Connector by KYOCERA
Kyocera Elco made an announcement on release of a low profile and space saving FPC connector with the dimension of 1.1mm high and 3.85mm deep, designed for consumer electronics such as Notebook PCs, DSCs, DVCs as well as game consoles. The new Series 6843 is a 0.3mm pitch, right angled, back-flip locking ZIF type connector which is best suited for the internal connection in electronic equipment requiring a small area for the FPC to be laid. Kyocera Corporation today made an announcement of development of industry’s first crystal etalon filter which is used in tunable laser modules for WDM application to contribute in increasing the volume of data transmission in such system. The newly developed crystal etalon filter makes it possible in selection of a wavelength temperature coefficient with in the range of 5.4 to 15.7pm /?C. Kyocera Elco today made an announcement of development of world’s smallest slim type board-to-board connector targeted to be used in cell phones and digital AV equipment, etc. The Series5804 is a 0.4mm pitch and ultra low profile board to board connector with 0.9mm in mating height and 2.4mm in width shortest in the industry resulting in a great deal of space saving. The Series5804 features a double sided contact structure to enhance the resistance to vibration of drop shock. The Series5804 has been developed based on company’s Twin-rib structure resulting in elimination of foreign obstacles such as splash of the flux, chips of boards separation and so on as well ensuring the high contact reliability. Kyocera Corporation made an announcement earlier this month on development of industry’s first wavelength-selective crystal 1.2 wave plate enabling the multi-use and simultaneous use of three wavelengths. With shipment of mini notebook/ Netbook to increase in Pacific region in 2009 which has been growing since 2008 due mainly to falling price of mobile broadband services and increase coverage of third generation mobile technology, introduction of WiMAX services a viable wireless technology couldn’t have come at a better time. It all started with announcement of WiMAX wireless data services by UQ Communication today which states collaboration between UQ Communications Inc. and Intel in promoting and expanding “UQ WiMAX,” the commercially available WiMAX service from UQ Communications in Japan scheduled to be released on July 1st 2009. The new service with a flat fee structure will cost the user 4,480 yen per month. UQ Communication shareholders are KDDI CORPORATION, Intel Capital Corporation, East Japan Railway Company, KYOCERA Corporation, Daiwa Securities Group Inc., The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd.
