World’s Fastest Inkjet Printheads by KYOCERA
Kyocera has announced the development of two new inkjet printhead products, the KJ4B-Y for water based ink and the KJ4A-B for UV-curable ink. Both printheads offer industry’s fastest print speed. The KJ4B-Y offers a high resolution printing combined with a print speed that is approximately 1.3 times faster than company’s existing products, by ejecting ink for up to 40,000 times per second at 40kHz drive frequency from each ink nozzles. This would result in higher speed and resolution printing for large volume printing jobs with individualized data such as invoices and statements in a short period of time using water-based ink which is suitable for paper printing. Development of Residential Type Solid Oxide Fuel Cell Co-generation System with World’s highest Power Generation Efficiency
Osaka Gas company, Aisin Seiki company, Kyocera, Chofu Seisakusho and Toyota Motor Corporation have jointly developed a residential type solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) co-generation system (SOFC) achieving world’s highest level of power generation efficiency of 46.5%, among the residential type fuel cell. Kyocera’s contribution is in development of cell stacks, while Aisin contributed by building the generation units with the cell stack incorporating into it. The Chofu has made the hot-water supply as well as heating unit using exhausted heat. Osaka Gas will start sales of the new “ENE-FARM Type S” on April 27th, 2012 only in Japan at a price tag of 2,751,000 JPY. Read more
Development of Innovative Protective Overcoat for Thermal Printheads by Kyocera
Kyocera has announced an innovative protective overcoat that goes on thermal printheads which are used in digital photo printing. The new KC-91 protective overcoat which commonly used in dye-sublimation printing application is normally found in self-service digital photo printing machines. Applying the new overcoat will reduce the frictional resistance by approximately 50% in comparison to company’s overcoat. Read more
Development of Compact AT-Cut Crystal Unit for Wireless Communication by KYOCERA
Kyocera has announced the release of compact size CX1612SB AT-Cut Crystal unit of wireless communication which was manufactured by way of photolithographic process. The new product features a crystal impedance (CI) value of 60 ohm which is a 25% improvement over conventional products. The main application of the new product will be reference signal oscillation for wireless communication handset.
The AT-cut crystal unit is a component that oscillates the reference signal for ICs and it is widely used in multitude of electronic devices like mobile phones and smartphones as well as healthcare related products. Read more
Release of a New 8.4-Inch Super-Wide Viewing Angle SVGA Resolution LCD by Kyocera
Kyocera has released a new 8.4-inch Super Wide Viewing Angle SVGA resolution liquid crystal display module. The new display comes built on an integrated LED driver circuit with long-life LED backlight and low power consumption plus a viewing angle of 170 degrees, ideal for medical as well as industrial type applications. The new LCD module’s operating life cycle is up to 70,000 hours (roughly 8 years). Read more
Development of a New Series of Protective Overcoat giving Printhead More Corrosion Resistance Quality
Kyocera has announced the released of new KC-50 Series of protective overcoat for thermal printhead, helping to improve the corrosion resistance of the printhead by 6 times while providing a more energy efficient and higher print quality. The protective overcoat layer is approximately 15% thinner than conventional overcoat and distance between the heat source and print media is shortened, resulting in reduced heat requirements and increased energy efficiency. The improved heat transfer would result in increased print accuracy by one symbol grade (Quality standard based on “ANSI X3.182”Bar Code Print Quality Guideline), even at high print speeds, resulting in higher quality print.
