KYOCERA to Showcase the Industry’s First LTE Micro Base Station
Kyocera made an announcement on development of industry’s first Long Term Evolution (LTE) micro base station. The company claims the new micro base station is the world’s lightest and smallest and the most efficient LTE base station, where its unique compact and all-in-one design makes it ideal for network operators to complement their existing networks through expanding coverage or adding incremental capacity in high use area. The micro base station weighs less than 12kg with 8 watts of transmit power, a fraction in comparison to typical macro base stations. Read more
Development of Compact LTE Base Station by NEC
For what that has been anticipated to replace HSDPA/HSUPA family of W-CDMA technologies sometimes by 2011, LTE systems development is underway by Telecom equipment manufacturers all over the world. One such company is NEC that made an announcement on development of a compact LTE base station which will go on display at the Broadband World Forum Europe 2009 held in Paris, France from 7-9 September.
