Development of 12.1-inch XGA Color TFT-LCD Module by Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Electric today made an announcement on development of 12.1 inch XGA color TFT LCD module featuring a reduced size and thickness of 10% and 20% respectively in comparison to the previous model. The new AA121XL01 offers a high brightness of up to 1,000 cd/m2 plus a longer backlight life through incorporation of white LED and its inverter-less construction. The minimum backlight lifespan is 60,000 hours at the 25 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the inverter-less construction helps in eliminating any needs high-voltage inverters resulting in lowering the final product cost. Read more
Development of Wood Based Plastic by Mitsubishi Motor
Mitsubishi Motor Corporation (MMC) made an announcement on development of Wood based plastic made from Cedar wood. The cedar wood that has been used in creating this proprietary plastic resin comes from leftover and waste wood materials in sawmills and furniture factories which until now were burned for thermal energy. The newly developed resin material has been created based on liquid resin wood technology. The creation of this liquid risen is as a result of reaction between wood particles and phenol with a help of acidic catalysts in presence of high temperature where later on is mixed with fillers and a hardener substance to form a hard resin. The final material has a high heat and fire resistance characteristics making it ideal for automobile engine parts and electrical insulation applications which demand high temperature and flame resistance materials. MMC used the newly developed material for its new ashtray cup . Read more
Development of 1.3 micrometer band transmitter optical sub assembly laser module by Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Electric launched the 1.3 micrometer band transmitter optical sub assembly (TOSA) laser module targeted for 10Gbps optical transmission market. The FU-45RDF-9M2 is in compliance with three standards for optical transceivers one being the XFP, a standard for optical transceivers in unifying SONET, SDH and Ethernet, fiber channels and other data transmission standard and the other being the SFP+, also a unified standard for enhanced 8.5 and 10 Gigabit small form factor pluggable module and finally the XMD-MSA, which is a unified standard for mechanical and electrical interface of small optical devices installed in XFP. Development of highly integrated Organic Photovoltaic Module
Sunlight as a clean and inexhaustible source of energy provides an effective way in diminishing the green house effect. Solar Cells or Photovoltaic (PV) serves as a proven technology known for its ability in capturing and reusing sunlight to be used as source of energy, but the cost of generating power with the current PV technology is very high prohibiting the wide spread use of PVs as a result of this. Extensive amount of time has been already gone for research and development of Organic Photovoltaic (OPV) in a promise to provide a much improved sunlight conversion rate. During this research it was discovered that C60 Fullerene offers a very good organic semi-conductivity and it can be applied to the OPV module as an acceptor. The Fullerene was supplied for module production by Frontier Carbon Corporation (FCC) a Mitsubishi Corporation subsidiary and the world’s largest producer of Fullerene. Read more
Multi-purpose transparent gas-barrier film by Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Plastics inc. has unveiled yet another product in the company’s X-Barrier series product lines which was introduced back in June of 2008. The new product “View-Barrier” is a transparent film with a high gas barrier property which has been designed to be used on front surface of flexible OLED panels, electronic paper display, and organic thin film as well as dye sensitized solar cells. Mitsubishi new industrial TFT LCD modules
Mitsubishi Electric made its announcement on three new industrial TFT LCD modules on company’s “Diafine” product series. The new modules offer much improved light reflectance nearly 90% lower than that of their predecessors. Mitsubishi achieved this improvement through introduction of resin bonding a 3mm thick protective glass panel on the entire module’s surface. The normal applications for such modules would be for outdoor equipment like POS, ATM machines etc. Read more
TFT based solar cell by Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi chemical has unveiled its organic based solar cell during the PV Expo in Tokyo. The newly developed solar cell is based on organic semiconductor material that Mitsubishi developed for TFTs back in 2006. The thin film solar cell uses a fullerene derivative for the N-Type material and Mitsubishi’s own developed material “benzoporphyrin (BP)” for the p-type material which was developed for the material of deriver TFTs for OLED and electronic paper. 1DIN Blu-ray Disc player for automobile by Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi electric unveiled the 1DIN a small size blu-ray player for automobiles. Well, this is an obvious choice as Blu-ray find itself as industry standard. The 1DIN player is only one third of the home size BD player. Mitsubishi managed to reduce the size of the player by increasing the board density by as much as 1.5 times and reducing the thickness of its mechanical parts. Read more
Mitsubishi’s Red laser Diode for Compact Projector
Mitsubishi Electric Corp. on January 20th unveiled the “ML520G54″ a red semiconductor laser diode with an oscillation wavelength of 638nm. It is deigned and intended for small projector capable of projecting images through scanning light with a micro mirror. Read more
Access control Lighting and Air Conditioning by Mitsubishi
Access control technology is not just limited to documentations in documents management system or other system software and your bank account, now a day is part of telematic technology which controls your automobile system by not allowing the intruder to use your car as well as access control automobile ignition system and your home security. If I missed something please forgive me I am sure there are tones of other applications since access control more and more is becoming inherently part of our life. Well, Mitsubishi Electric is combining its room access control technology with Air conditioning and lighting system. This access control is Mitsubishi’s “DIGUARD” security system for buildings.
