Development of Ultra-Thin Fluid Conveyance Pump for Fuel Cells by MURATA
Miniaturization of mobile equipment, created a demand for even smaller batteries with higher capacities, where direct-methanol fuel cell (DMFC) is expected to satisfy this need, however, up to now, peripheral circuits miniaturization, including pumps and decreasing power consumption has hampered its commercialization. To overcome these obstacles, Murata Manufacturing has developed an ultra-thin fluid conveyance device, “Micro-pump MZP Series” capable of being used in fuel cells for mobile equipment such as mobile phones and laptop computers. Development of World’s Thinnest Capacitor by MURATA Manufacturing
Murata Manufacturing made an announcement on development of thinnest capacitor in the world. The new tinny capacitor is only 0.05mm-thick, a rather ultra-low profile capacitor resulting in its easy placement in such places as directly under the components such as ICs, helping in design of lighter, thinner and overall smaller form factor equipment. Furthermore, it contributes in enhancing equipment features through reducing inductance in wiring patterns. Read more
Development of high Precision Temperature Sensing device by MURATA
With miniaturization of electronic equipment and with their increasing mounting density, temperature control is becoming an ever vital issue to tackle. Also use of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries as the energy source for electronic equipment such as note-size PCs and electronic tools and HEVs is becoming more common creating a stronger demand for overheat detection of their battery cells. To address this need Murata manufacturing has developed and commercialized “Thermo-String” a tiny high-precision temperature sensing device which uses Chip POSISTOR or a chip NTC thermistor as the detector element. Super tiny Monolithic Ceramic Capacitor by Murata
Miniaturization of mobile devices and introduction of new advanced functionality on such devices making the available surface board real-estate on them rather scarce, forcing the component manufacturer to come up with a ever smaller form factors component design. One such device is capacitor for mobile devices which have been increasing faced with reduction on their mounting space requirements. But manufacturer of capacitance need to reduce the size of capacitance while maintaining their large capacitance capability. Read more
Portable non-contact charger for mobile devices
Seiko Epson Corporation in joint cooperation with Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd showcased prototype of a portable non-contact charger for mobile devices during the Embedded Technology event at Yokohama. The development of this prototype is a result of joint project by these two companies in regard to non-contact quick charge technology. Read more
Ultra small Magnetic Switch AMR by Murata Manufacturing
This is really tiny as you can see from company’s own photo. This is a magnetic switch that has been commercialized to be used in mobile phones and laptops PCs as well as digital cameras for open/close detection.
Up to now, mechanical switches have been used for open/close detection of mobile phones and laptop PCs; but recently, magnetic switches and magnetic field sensors have been gaining popularity. This is due to the fact that unlike their mechanical counterparts, magnetic switches eliminate wear which is caused by contact between sensor and magnet. Read more
