Development of the “Press Cut Spline Hub Joint” for High Performance Hub Bearings and Constant Velocity Joins

May 21, 2012 · Filed Under Trendy Products · Comments Off

NTN has recently announced the development of “Press Cut Spline Hub Joint” which allows the production lighter and high performance hub bearings as well as constant velocity joins (CVJ) using current assembly line. The newly developed product will drastically reduce weight while delivering higher performance based on a new joint development by NTN. NTN is using a proprietary press-cut spline joint for pre-spline (smaller spline) which is inside bore surface of hub bearing reducing the load required for the fitting, and features a bolt for fastening the hub joint and CVJ together, allowing the new product to be used on automobile manufacturer assembly line with no need to change the current 3rd generation hub bearing and. Development of Revolutionary Ball Bearing Design Helping to Reduce Rotational Torque by 80% in Automotive Transmission System

May 16, 2012 · Filed Under Clean Tech, Green Tech, Trendy Products · Comments Off

NTN has announced the development of “Self-formed Seal Torque Deep Groove Ball Bearing “ for automotive transmission, capable of reducing rotational torque by up to 80% through self-forming minute gaps, helping to reduce fuel consumption while reducing CO2 emissions. The new ball bearing features a newly developed seal that self-forms minute gaps between the inner ring and seal. The end of the seal which comes in contact with the inner ring is of non-contact type seal which cannot be manufactured using machining or molding processes, as these seals form minute gaps at the initial stages of bearing operation. Development of High-Speed, High-Precision Laser Machining for Thin-Film Solar Cells

March 5, 2012 · Filed Under Trendy Products · Comments Off

NTN has announced the development of a “Laser Scriber for Thin-film Solar Cells”, which combines the optical and laser machining technologies which has been acquired from the development of high-speed, high-precision table technology and LCD repair devices. The new scriber is capable of shorter takt time during the thin-film solar cell panel manufacturing processing, resulting in improved conversion efficiency and lower costs. The new “Laser Scriber for Thin-film Solar Cells” has a stage unit for mounting panel substrates which is approximately 50% lighter than larger panel substrates usually required for thin-film solar cells. In addition to this, a higher rigidity for the track unit helps to limit vibrations during high-speed operation, resulting in maximum speed of 3,000 mm/s and rate of acceleration of 2.0 G, and high-precision with straightness at +/- 10 micrometer or less. Development of Industry’s Highest Load Resistance Plastic Pulleys for Engine Ancillary Belts

February 1, 2012 · Filed Under Clean Tech, Trendy Products · Comments Off

Market demand for more efficient fuel economy automobile is on the rise, and one way to make this happen is by decreasing the actual weight of the vehicle. In doing so, manufacturers in automotive industry are placing their interest in replacing various steel parts through a vehicle with plastic parts. One such part is engine accessory belt pulleys which can be made out of plastic to replace older steel pulleys. However, higher power output and rotational speed of engines in reaching greater efficiency of engines has often resulted in slip (creep) between the outer ring of bearing and plastic parts, resulting in deformation of the pulley which causes the mating between the outer ring of the bearing and seal to become loose causing grease to leak out as the seal rotates. In order to remedy this problem NTN has developed a “High-load Resin Pulley” based on high-rigidity plastic capable of withstanding high temperatures around the engine in the vehicle. Read more
