Release of TOUGH Series Compact Digital Camera by OLYMPUS
Olympus Imaging Corporation has unveiled its rugged style compact digital camera. The newly developed µTOUGH-3000 comes with all the characteristic of rugged product which are waterproof, shockproof, dustproof as well as freezeproof. The new µTOUGH-3000 can be submerged to a depth of 3 meters and shock resistance when it is dropped from a height of 1.5 meters, plus it can be operated at a temperature as low as -10 degrees Celsius. In addition to its tough feature, the new µTOUGH-3000 capable of HDTV (1280 x 720 pixels) movie recording due to its support for MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 movie compression format. With 1GB of built-in memory, the new µTOUGH-3000 offers its user with photo-surfing capability, allowing user to download favorite pictures from PC to camera, and then search desired pictures according to the recording information such as “date”, “iAUTO” and “scene mode”, and view them on the camera. OLYMPUS Unveils its 2010 New Compact Digital Camera
Packed with features, Olympus’s new µ-7040 ,pocket size 7X zoom camera, features a 28mm wide-angle shooting and HD movie recording capability bond to be released by end of January 2010. The new µ-7040 comes with large capacity 2 GB built-in memory enabling photo-surfing on the large 3-inch high resolution LCD screen through use of new [ib] PC software. The zoom capabilities are supported by a 14-megapixel 1/2.33-inch CCD which works together with the high-resolution lens. Read more
Development of Super Wide Angle and High Power Zoom Lens by Olympus
Olympus unveiled two new zoom lenses as part of the company’s effort in expanding its Micro Four Third System lens product lineup. Both, a super wide-angle 2x zoom lens and wide-angle-to-telephoto 10.7x zoom lens will hit the market by first half of the 2010. The currently underdevelopment super wide-angle zoom lens (35mm format) which is equivalent to 18-36mm F4.0-5.6 is designed to maximize the advantages of compact Micro Four Thirds System design with a length of only about 50mm resulting in a significantly smaller form factor in comparison to Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm F4.0-5.6 with identical zoom range. Release of New Interchangable Lens Digital Camera by Olympus
Olympus unveiled its new interchangeable lens digital camera and its accessories. The PEN E-P2 is second Olympus camera to be developed based on Micro Four Third System Standard. The new E-P2 is a mirror-less camera with newly expanded range of 8 creative Art Filter function which includes Diorama which is capable of creating the look of a miniature diorama through enhancement of color and contrast as well as blurring the periphery to distort distance perception, and Cross Process which is capable of simulating the unexpected color transpositions ans look that result when negative film is processed with a positive film emulsion or vice versa. The new E-P2 comes with other creative tools such as i-FINISH which is a new picture mode capable of capturing subjects with exceptional clarity and presence as well as HD movie and high-quality PCM audio recording. DOCOMO unveils its green Mobile Phone Prototype with touch of Style
I guess use of scrap woods or so called surplus woods is becoming a technology trend coinciding with thinning tree activities in maintaining healthy forest. This is my second post on this subject. It all started with Mitsubishi’s announcement on development of new plastic resin from the surplus cedar wood. This follows with today’s DOCOMO announcement on development of mobile phone prototype made of surplus wood of trees culled. Well only the exterior body of the phone is made of wood. The new prototype was developed in corporation with Sharp and Olympus Corporation as well as with the collaboration of “more trees”, a reforestation project which is founded by musician Ryuichi Sakamoto and others. Introduction of three new Compact Digital Camera by Olympus
Olympus has introduced three new additions to its line of compact digital camera. The first in this line up is the µ 7020 series followed by FE-4000 and FE-46. The µ 7020 series features a stylish design incorporating a 7x optical zoom lens with 28mm wide-angle shooting capability plus a 3.0 inch HyperCrystal II LCD monitor. The µ 7020 series among the multitude of features comes with Magic Filter allowing user to apply a color tone or ambience to an image resulting in a dramatic difference change in color of object in real life. The µ 7020 also features a CCD-shift type image stabilization based on Olympus stabilizing algorithm used in digital SLR cameras as well as high sensitivity shooting performance to eliminate the image blur which usually occurs due to camera shake or subject movement in telescopic shooting. The µ 7020 has a HD 12-megapixel CCD which comes with Olympus original TruePic III image processing engine.
