OMRON Roles out the Next Generation Machine Automation Controller Series
Omron has announced the development of next generation Sysmac, a machine automation controller series along with its related software. The new series is in line with company’s 10 year strategy of “Value Generation 2020”, with an aim to create an unique new value in factory automation field. The new Sysmac NJ series is a first step in achieving this goal. Omron with collaboration with Intel Corporation has completely overhauled its automation controllers and software architecture. Smile Scanner by Omron
Omron finally made the announcement to start selling their “Smile Scanner”, the only scanner in the market as far as I know capable of evaluating person’s smile and rate the smile on the basis of percentage. “Smile Scanner” scans a person’s face and checks a few critical spots to evaluate the smile then give a percentage from 0% to 100 % based on Omron’s original index. The “Smile Scanner” is based on Omron’s face sensing technology “OKAO Vision” and over 10 years face research experience and more than one million collected data of the faces making it possible for the scanner to evaluate the smile objectivity. Tiny vibration power generator by Omron
Omron Corporation has unveiled a prototype of a compact size vibration powered generator. The device is a size of a 100 yen coin (20 x 20 x 8mm) and is able to generate 10 microwatt of power with vibration inputs at 20Hz frequency and 1G acceleration. The generated power will be accumulated in a capacitor in duration of several tens of second up to several minutes which would be enough to operate a device such as wireless communication devices.
