Development of Rain Water Purification and Sterilization System by Sanyo

Sanyo made an announcement on development of purification and sterilization system to purify, sterilize and effectively utilize rain water which has been saved in a tank using company’s original ozonation technology. According to the company sprinkling purified/sterilized rainwater on rooftop or on the outdoor units of showcases and air conditioners can reduce heat penetration into a building resulting in improved operation efficiency of outdoor units which translate into energy saving and reduction on your electric bill. The system is still in its early stage of development and it will be installed in the buildings of commercial facilities in Japan for field testing to verify its performance and energy-saving effect, and further research and development will be promoted toward its commercialization. Eco-curtain offering an exceptional power saving performance

A Japanese interior design company by the name of New Life Corp. has developed a 3 layered curtain featuring an exceptional thermal performance during the summer as well as winter managing to maintain a room and window temperature difference of 5 to 10 degrees Celsius. The “Air-Sandwich Curtain” as company refers to it is made by placing a special fabric between the interior layer facing the room and the window side which is a reflective layer type fabric. The thermal performance of this newly developed curtain is the result of injecting two layers of air between the three layers of fabrics. A 2 square meter size Air-Sandwich Curtain sells for 26,000 yen.
