Seiko Epson today made an announcement on development of a display controller capable of handling advanced Graphical User Interface visual effects. Epson effort in developing this display controller was directly in response to market need for mobile devices capable of advanced visual effects. The newly developed S1D13781 controller by Epson supports alpha blending, a popular visual effect rendering technique with a built-in feature of automatically updating alpha values on the basis of a customizable number and duration of transparency gradations that enables fade effects.
