One-Seg Digital Broadcasts receiver tuner module by Sharp

Today Sharp unveiled a new receiver tuner module for one-seg digital terrestrial broadcast capable of receiving two one-seg programs simultaneously. According to JEITA (Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association) the percentage of mobile handset shipments in Japan with the capability to receive One-seg programs exceeded 85% in December 2008. The one-seg capability is considered as an added value feature for the mobile manufacturers in an effort to differentiate their handset from other manufacturers in a highly competitive market.
