Development of world’s lowest power consumption compact integrated 40Gbps DPSK Receiver by Fujitsu
The introduction of 40Gbps optical transmission equipment in network backbone to meet the increasing volume of data communication in the network as a result of new service offerings such as cloud computing and on-line streaming and at the same time advancement in transmission speed has contributed in growing complexity and size of these optical equipment which resulted in needs for larger installation space and higher power consumption for these equipments. In order to meet the challenge of minimizing the size and power consumption of 40Gbps transponder, Fujitsu Optical Components has successfully developed a compact integrated 40Gbps DPSK Receiver with world’s lowest power consumption. The newly developed receiver which is used for 40Gbps optical transponders is capable of handling DPSK which is a primary format of phase modulation resulting in a more compact size and energy efficient transponders.
