Development of New Photocoupler for High Voltage Industrial Applications by Renesas Electronics
Renesas Electronics has announced the development of a long-creepage-distance photocoupler, the PS9905, for inverters in such applications as industrial equipment which is requiring maximum commercial power supply of 690 V or solar power generation systems requiring high voltages of up to 1000 V. The new PS9905 has external creepage distance of 14.5 mm. The new PS9905 comes with light receiving IC which has been fabricated with a BiCMOS process, helping it to achieve a low parasitic capacitance while keeping the circuit current below 3 mA and delivering short delay times of less than 150 ns. Renesas Unveils Super Compact Low-Loss Power MOSFETs for Portable Electronic Industry
Renesas Electronics has released 8 new low-loss P- and N-channel power MOSFETs for use in portable electronics such as smartphones and tablet PCs. The new lines up of MOSFETs feature industry leading low-loss (low on-resistance). The new devices include the 20 V (VDSS) uPA2600 and the 30 VuPA2601, packaged in an ultra compact 2 x 2 mm form factor, delivering increased power efficiency and miniaturization within smaller mobile devices. The new MOSFETs help in reducing mounting areas in a wide variety of applications, including load switches which turn power applied to ICs ON or OFF and charge/discharge control in portable devices and ON/OFF control and overcurrent cutoff switches in RF power amplifiers.
Development of High Performance SoC for High-End STBs by Renesas Electronics
Renesas electronics has announced the release of a new system on the chip (SoC) for high-end set-top boxes (STBs) the R-Home S1, supporting both worldwide digital TV broadcasting reception and internet content distribution. Release of New DC/DC LED Control Evaluation Board by Renesas Electronics
Renesas Electronics has released a new DC/DC LED control evaluation board based on the RL78/11A microcontroller (MCU).The new evaluation board will allow system designers to benefits of MCU-based solutions for LED driver development. Development of a New 32-bit Microcontroller with Built-in Resolver Sensor Interface
Renesas Electronics has released a new series of 32-bit microcontrollers (MCU) designed for automotive control system including motor control for HEV/EV as well as other automotive applications. The new MCU series comes with Renesas’ V850 E2 CPU core and set of peripheral functions for motor control. The new MCU series in addition to built-in resolver sensor interface comes with A/D converter and three-phase PWM timer. In addition to this the new MCU series CPU adopts a dual core lockstep system, where a comparator continually calculates and detects failures, resulting in real-time high failure detection rate via only hardware. Development of Ultra-Compact Reference Board for STB Market by Renesas Electronics
Renesas has announced the development of super compact reference board for Set-Top Box (STB) solution offering cloud feature to non connected TVs. The new reference board will provide multi-room content distribution (home content distribution) capability, a feature that is expected to gain popularity in the near future. The new IP network compatible STB reference board supports Full-HD quality of 1920 x 1080/30 progressive content plus it provides several feature that allows it to achieve 88% reduction in size, 170% boost in performance and a 25% decrease in power consumption in comparison to company’s current products. Development of a High Commutation Triac Enabling Direct Trigger by MCU
Renesas Electronics has released a new high commutation triac, the BCR8LM-14LK supporting RMS on-state current of 8A and rated repetitive peak off-voltage of 700 V (industry’s first) which can be triggered directly via microcontroller (MCU). The new triac will be used to drive loads such as AC motors, solenoid and heaters in electronic household appliances such as washers and refrigerators. Release of a New Silicon- Germanium Carbon based HBT for Low-Noise Amplifier Transistor in Wireless LAN System
Renesas Electronics has released a new Silicon-Germanium: Carbon (SiGe:C) based heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT) for use as a low-noise amplifier in wireless LAN systems, satellite radios as well as similar applications. The HBT is a transistor capable of amplifying a weak microwave signal which is received wirelessly to an appropriate level and achieving the industry’s top level noise figure of 0.75 dB at 5.8 GHz band used for wireless LANs as well as other applications.
