Seiko Epson Corporation made an announcement today on development of new four-channel car camera interface IC ,capable of combining images from multiple sides of the vehicle, helping to eliminate blind spot, resulting in higher level of driving safety, according to the company. The newly developed S2D13P04 is equipped with four NTSC/PAL decoders, allowing it to connect to up to four analog cameras and concurrently decode the four video channels. Read more
Development of Graphic Processor for High Resolution LCDs by EPSON
Seiko Epson has developed a graphic engine equipped application processor for rendering screens targeted for product application requiring high resolution liquid crystal displays such as control panels for office and factory automation equipment as well as high performance remote controls. The newly developed S1C33L26 comes with a graphic draw engine (GE) providing hardware capability for rendering richly varied displays which includes points ,lines, triangles, squares, circles, re-sizing and rotation, all done through a simple commands. Release of a reference Design Kit for recorder IC by Epson
Seiko Epson made an announcement on release of reference design kit which is equipped with company’s driver IC, the S2S66A30. The kit supports the latest driver functions including an S2S66A30 equipped main board, an analog camera interface board as well as Linux-based driver recorder applications. The driver applications are royalty free source code and are available for download directly from Epson online site, including the source code will result in a significant time reduction in developing a driver recorder. Development of New Robot Controller by Epson
Seiko Epson made an announcement on development of new robot controller to be used for Epson industrial robots. This is an upgrade to company’s existing model RC180 controller with capability of driving almost all Epson industrial robot automation systems including robots and peripheral equipments as well as multiple manipulators making RC620 to act as a work cell controller resulting in a greater flexibility in building a various range of system. Production of New High-temperature TFT color panel for Electronic Viewfinders by Epson
Seiko Epson made an announcement on production of Ultra-Compact, High-Resolution HTPS TFT color liquid crystal panel for Electronic viewfinders. The new high temperature polysilicon (HTPS) TFT color panel measures only 1.2cmm diagonally and it offers SVGA (800xRGBx600) resolution for a total of 1.44 mega pixels. The new panels to be used for electronic viewfinders form mid-to high-end Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras. The new development is to fulfill the consumers’ need for smaller and thinner DSLR cameras with video and other features.
The new panel offers a high resolution and fidelity required to replace optical viewfinders and to focus the image in addition to re-creating a smooth gradations and a natural softness by incorporating an analog driver. Read more
Production of New 3LCD chips for Home Projectors by EPSON
Seiko Epson made an announcement on volume production of new liquid crystal panels 3LCD chips to be incorporated into 3LCD home projectors. Measuring only 1.34 cm diagonally, the new high-temperature polysilicon (HTPS) TFT 3LCD chips features a QHD (960×540) resolution. The development of new 3LCD chip by Epson was a response to market demand for HD media players and digital HD broadcasts with large screen viewing option for home with improved resolution and quality of source images. In development of this product Epson has employed its latest D7 process technology in order to widen the new panel’s aperture ratio to 75% resulting in 156% improvement in comparison to previous panels.
