Sekisui Chemical has recently developed a new anisotropic conductive paste eliminating any needs for thermal compression bond of the electronic device PCBs, FPCs (Flexible Printed Circuits), electronic parts and etc., where solder particles self-assembly to electrodes simply through heating to form a metallic bond. The new past has made it possible to bond over surfaces instead of point touch contact resulting in high-speed transmission and high allowable current. The bond is made with thermosetting resin covering the electrodes and bond area, securing high adhesion and reliability. The result is a thinner connection in comparison to connector bonding. Sekusui Chemical DSSCR&D Center of Sekisui Chemical in a joint project with Chief Researcher Shingo Hirose, Prime Senior Researcher Jun Akedo and others of the Advanced Coating Technology Platform Research Team, Advanced Manufacturing Research Institute (Research Institute Director: Masanobu Awano), of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), have manufactured world’s first successful trial of film dye-sensitize solar cells (DSSC) in a room temperature process using aerosol deposition method, a high speed ambient temperature coating process used for ceramic materials, called AD method, without any needs to use high-temperature firing.
