Development of High Capacity Olivine-Type Lithium Iron base Li-ion Rechargeable Batteries by SONY
Sony has just unveiled its new 1.2kWh-class energy storage module which has been manufactured using lithium-ion rechargeable batteries where their cathode material is made of olivine-type lithium iron phosphate. The reason behind choosing olivine-type lithium iron phosphate based rechargeable batteries is due to their high power output and long-life performance, while providing an excellent thermal stability. The multiple modules can be connected in either series or parallel formation for higher voltage and capacity. Read more
