Palm size Micro-miniature Super-fine Ink-Jet system
AIST (Advance Industrial Science and Technology) in Japan has developed a super-fine ink-jet (SIJ) technology capable of ejecting super fine droplet of 1/1000 in volume in comparison to conventional home use ink-jet printer. The newly developed system needs only a DC5V power in order to operate; it also can be operated by a battery. Through use of this newly developed technology micrometer scale printing will be possible. Furthermore, mask-less patterning such as micrometer scale pattern would be possible without a need for photolithography process. The new technology is a portable palm-sized micro manufacturing system (Pocket Factory). The palm sized system will be launched from an AIST start up company.
