Development of Super Wide Angle and High Power Zoom Lens by Olympus

Olympus unveiled two new zoom lenses as part of the company’s effort in expanding its Micro Four Third System lens product lineup. Both, a super wide-angle 2x zoom lens and wide-angle-to-telephoto 10.7x zoom lens will hit the market by first half of the 2010. The currently underdevelopment super wide-angle zoom lens (35mm format) which is equivalent to 18-36mm F4.0-5.6 is designed to maximize the advantages of compact Micro Four Thirds System design with a length of only about 50mm resulting in a significantly smaller form factor in comparison to Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm F4.0-5.6 with identical zoom range.
