Development of Thyristor Module for Single-Phase PFC by TDK-EPC
TDK-EPC has release a new TSM-LC-I module, a thyristor module allowing single-phase PFC of networks with rated voltages ranging from 230 to 525 V AC. Depending on the voltage type the new module can be designed for reactive powers of between 10 to 22 kvar. It offers a fast switching times of only 5 ms. As the switching tales place in the zero transition of the current, the switching operations do not affect the gird, resulting in extended service life of the capacitors. The new thyristor module is capable of continuously monitoring the power line voltage and capacitor temperature. Read more

Development of 3-Line EMC Filters for frequency Converters by TDK-EPC
TDK-EPC has released a new series of EPCOS 3-line EMC filters for frequency converters and other power electronics applications. The new series have UL/CSA approval and are designed for currents of 10, 20 or 35 A at rated voltage of 520 or 300 V AC. The new filters are in compliance with protection class IP20 specifications and are suitable for operating temperatures of up to 50 degrees Celsius. Read more
Release of New series of Inrush current limiters for Input Circuits of Power Supplies
TDK-EPC has announced the release of new series of inrush current limiters (ICL). The new P11 series covers a resistance range from 4 to 25 ohm designed fir current from 2.5 to 5A in the temperature range between 0 to 25 degrees Celsius. The other new series, namely the P13 series covers a resistance range from 3 to 5 ohm is designed for higher power, and currents of 6 or 7A. The new devices come with disk diameters of 13 and 14.5 mm (with coating). The ICLs are temperature dependent resistors (NTC thermistors) which are used in such applications as the input circuits of power supplies. Their job is to limit the extreme high currents that occur at the moment of switch-on when charging the DC link circuit capacitors, protecting diodes or rectifier bridges from destruction. Read more
Development of World’s Smallest Bans Pass Filters based on Thin-Film Technology
TDK-EPC has released a TFSB series of TDK thin-film band pass filters, which happen to be industry’s smallest with footprint of 1.0 x 0.5 mm square and an insertion height of just 0.3 mm. Based on terminal configuration on the bottom surface of the new filters the footprint was reduced by about 59% in comparison to conventional filters. The newly developed filters are designed for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, ideal for Bluetooth and WLAN applications in smartphone and other mobile phones. Read more
TDK-EPC Introduces the World’s First Component with Common-Mode and Differential Mode Noise Suppression
TDK-EPC has announced the development of world’s first common-mode filter that combines common-mode noise suppression and GSM band differential noise suppression all in a single component. The newly developed TDK TCD0806B-350-2P common-mode filter has been designed specifically for high-speed differential transmission on MIPI lines in smartphones, conventional mobile phones as well as other type of mobile devices. The dual noise suppression capability was made possible through proprietary thin-film circuit and material technologies, where in GSM band of 800 MHz would result in significant improvement in reception sensitivity for smartphones and other mobile phones.
