TDK has announced the development of new SDG4A series of serial ATA II compatible industrial solid state drives (SSDs) in 2.5 inch form factor with maximum capacity of 512 GByte. The newly product comes with TDK SSD Controller GBDriver RS4 Series with an effective access speed of 180 MByte/sec. The new SDG4A series come with latest MLC type NAND flash memory as well as a read retry function for enhanced data reliability, augmented by features of the existing GBDrive series such as auto recovery, data randomizer, and auto refresh. Development of Surge arresters for Power Supplies Protection in Telecommunication Equipment
TDK has announced the development of especially designed arrester stack for telecommunications equipment capable of protecting the power supplies. The component has a surge current capability of 20kA at an impulse wave of 8/20 micro second and 4 kA at an impulse wave of 10/350 micro second. The arrester conforms to climate category of 40/90/21 of IEC 600068-1 and is designed for operating temperatures from -40 to 90 degrees Celsius. Furthermore the new arrester features a extremely low capacitance of less than 1pF (1MHz) and a high insulation resistance of more than 10 G ohm (100 V DC). Read more
TDK Releases High Frequency Multilayer Inductor with Industry’s Highest Inductance Value
TDK has just expanded its high-frequency multilayer inductors with new types that achieve inductance value of up to 33 nH, which is world’s highest for a 0402 size inductor (EIA). TO increase the inductance, TDK has optimized the coil pattern design of its multilayer inductors while improving materials and process technologies in creating a greater number of layers that are even thinner than in existing products. TDK has announced the development of industrial type SD and MicroSD cards with support for rewrite life monitoring, integrated SLC NAND, with maximum of 16 GB capacity. Both types of cards are compliant with SDA specification 2.0 for improved power interruption tolerance. Development of Super Tough Power Inductors for High Temperature Automotive Applications
TDK has released a new series of SMD power inductors with heat resistance characteristics for automotive applications. The new CLF7045-D power inductors can withstand temperature of up to 150 degrees Celsius making them ideal for extreme operating temperatures such as power supply circuits in the automotive applications. Development of High Reliability SMT Type Inductors for Automotive Electronics
TDK has released a new SMT type inductors offering 30% more saturation current than standard series type. The saturation current for the new inductor is between 1.05 A to 38.0 A at inductance values from 0.82 to 1000 uH. Also, the DC resistance is between 5.0 milliohm and 1.35 ohm. The new inductors come in a footprint of 12.5 x 12.5 mm2 and a maximum insertion height of 8.5 mm. They feature magnetic shielding, making possible to place the inductors in direct proximity to other components on circuit board. With operating temperature of between -55 to +150 degrees Celsius, the new B82477R series of inductors can satisfy the rigorous requirements of automotive electronics and are qualified to AEC-Q200. Development of High Speed mSATA Type Solid Sate Drive for Cloud Computing System
TDK has announced the development of high speed mSATA type Solid-Sate Drive (SSD) achieving 170 MB/s read and 70 MB/s write speeds. The new SMG3B series which support 3Gbps serial ATA measures only 30 mm x 50 mm and offers storage capacities of up to 64 GB. The new series uses TDK original SSD controller GBDriver RS3, which features powerful error correction expandable to 44-bit ECC. The new SMG3B series also comes with improved data reliability thanks to its power interruption data preservation algorithm as well as auto refresh functionality. Development of High Capacitance Multilayer Ceramic Chip by TDK
TDK has expanded its lineup of multilayer ceramic chip capacitors with new types of high capacitance multilayer ceramic capacitors offering up to twice the capacitance in comparison to company’s existing products with same dimensions. The new capacitors withstand the high operation temperature which is encountered in car engine components. The new capacitors are developed based on a new dielectric material capable of maintaining excellent reliability and thermal characteristics even in extreme conditions. The new X8R MLCCs are available in rated voltages of 16, 25, 50 V DC and cover a capacitance in range of between 10 nF and 10 uF. The new capacitors are available in case sizes of between 1005 and 3225 depending on their voltage and capacitance values.
