Teijin has announced the development of world’s first printable electronics material for the local back surface filed (L-BSF) photovoltaic (PV) cell capable of high conversion efficiency. The new NanoGram Si paste contains roughly 20nm-diameter silicon nanoparticles which includes impurities such as boron, phosphorus. Teijin Dupont Film Japan has announced the development of a new high performance polyester film featuring world’s highest level of ultra violet light protection. The new film incorporates unique technologies for UV absorption agent capable of blocking UV radiation for as much as 390nm, or nearly 100% of all harmful ultraviolet light. The UV protection properties are incorporated in the film itself eliminating any needs for additional coating as required with conventional films. Since the impurities produced during coating, by eliminating the coating the new film’s production would produce only one-tenth the amount of impurities compared to conventional film production, helping to reduce the overall cost.
