TOSHIBA Unveils its New Industry’s Highest Areal Density Hard Disk Drives
This is becoming all case of Déjà vu, as Toshiba yet again beat its own record for highest areal density for Hard Disk Drive (HDD) by announcement of its new 2.5-inch 750GB HDD, industry leading storage capacity in this class. The new HDDs are new addition to company’s existing 5,400 RPM line of 2.5-inch HDDs. The new MK7559GSSXP HDD comes in a form factor of 9.5 millimeter-high, with two-platter design. Read more
Organic EL lighting panel by Panasonic
The Organic electroluminescent technology finds itself in a new but not so unfamiliar neighborhood. The display technology which eliminates needs for backlight in TV display industry due to its self luminous properties has been used for development of lighting panel by Panasonic Electric Works. The prototype was introduced during a speech at “Printable Electronics 2009 event” last month in Tokyo. The new OEL lighting panel features a luminance efficiency of 40lm/W which is nearly equivalent to luminance efficiencies of fluorescent lights. Read more

“SD-P73DTW” the new Toshiba’s potable DVD player comes with a built in one-seg tuner capable of recording One Segment Broadcasting (one-seg) onto SD, SDHC, microSD and microSDHC. The recorded programs by “SD-P73DTW” can be viewed with LCD TVs or mobile phones which are equipped with one-seg functionality. ECO- Thin TVs according to Panasonic
Like other TV manufacturers, Panasonic made announcement of its thin and power saving VIERA series PDP/LCD TVs, 13 of them all together. The PDP Z series with the thickness of 24.7mm has a wireless transmission function for 1080p HDTV images which is in compliance with wireless HD standard. The PDP model discharge area was increased by Panasonic through increase of electrode width of front panel plus using of different discharge gas and fluorescent material. DC power supply a logical answer to reduce power loss
Existing home versions of solar power systems usually convert generated DC power into AC using a power conditioner and supply it to homes. However, because many home appliances currently convert AC into DC by using an AC adapter, power generated by solar cells is being converted twice first from DC to AC and then from AC to DC and as a result even with conversion efficiency of 90% roughly 20% of the generated power is wasted due to this double conversion.
