Development of Vehicle-to-Home Power Supply Systems for EV by DENSO
DESNO has just announced the joint development of a Vehicle-to-home (V2H) power supply system for electric vehicles (EV) with Toyota Motor. The system is designed to work with Denso’s home energy management system and uses alternating current. The system is currently being tested using plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHV) to ensure its efficient use of energy. The V2H system is designed to quickly charge an EV with direct current from the HEMS storage battery, and it can supply the generated electricity in the EV back to the household. Read more
Development of Model Smarthome Project in Japan, to achieve Low-Carbon Community
Toyota along with 20 plus member organizations and businesses in Toyota City Low-Carbon Society Verification Promotion Council has initiated a verification test on newly developed model smarthomes with an aim to achieve optimal energy use in living spaces at the community level. Each smart home has HEMS that will link energy generating devices such as solar cells and fuel cells and energy storage devices such as household storage batteries, EcoCute heat-pump water heaters in the home with next-generation PHV and EV vehicles as well as intelligent household appliances to optimize and visual monitoring of electrical power supply and demand as well as control of individual household devices.
