Development of World’s First Fieldscopes with Lens-Shift-Type VR Function

October 6, 2011 · Filed Under Trendy Products · Comment

Nikon Vision, a subsidiary of Nikon has announced the development of EDG Fieldscopes 85 VR and 85-A VR, a world’s first fieldscopes that incorporates the lens-shift type VR function. In addition to this, the vibration reduction algorithm based on company’s VR mechanism which has been incorporated in NIKKOR VR lenses, has been optimized for the newly developed fieldscopes. The VR functions will help the fieldscopes to accurately compensate external vibrations caused by wind as well as enabling operations such as focusing, panning and tilting. Furthermore, the VR function will make the composition simple by reducing vibrations by around 1/8 of image blur which is normally occurs during normal observation. Plus it enhances focusing accuracy even when manual focus is being used during super-telephoto digiscoping. Read more
